Peugeot's Pepper Grinding Mechanism is a two-stage burr-style system with individually cut helix-shaped grooves and grinding teeth that are case-hardened to be virtually indestructible. This process releases the pepper's essential oils, resulting in more flavor and aroma. The Salt Crushing Mechanism features two ribbed plates that fracture and crush coarse, dry sea salt to a consistent size, while the Spice Mechanism, made of ceramic, is specially designed to grind dried spices and flat leafy herbs.

The Chili Pepper Mechanism, made of case-hardened steel, has a pre-cutting system and dual chamber reservoir for use with dry, hot chilis. The Nutmeg Shaving Mechanism, made of treated stainless steel, offers superior edge retention and a double stainless steel grater blade with a strong claw to finely shave whole nutmeg nuts. The Wet Salt mechanism, made of ceramic, is specially designed for damp sea salts.
